Then Astra stumbled, and put out a hand against the wall to steady herself. To her amazement, her hand sank in a short distance. "Fred," she called. "The wall... isn't rock any more - it's flesh!" "And my feet... are starting to sink slightly... into the floor. I think we're... in an artery - or maybe a vein." "Let's hope... it's an artery," panted Astra. "Because if it's... a vein, we could run into... a river of blood... coming the other way."

  3. It's a cappilary. They are absorbed into a wall.
