"Well, pleased to make your aquaintance," she said, and offered Fred a claw, as if she expected him to shake it. When he merely stared at it instead, she sniffed disdainfully and lowered it again. "So," she continued, "to what do I owe the honor?"

Lord Fred straightened defiantly. "I have come to slay you, foul beast, and to put an end to your wanton depredations of our fair countryside!" He drew his sword. "Prepare to do battle, evil wyrm!"

  1. The dragon laughed. "Depredations, indeed! Who writes this propaganda?"
  2. "Oh, very well," replied the dragon in a bored voice, and drew in a deep breath.
  3. The dragon merely looked at him in surprise, and Astra took advantage of its distraction to slip around behind it.
