Fred joins the dimensional explorers...

"I would gladly accept your offer. But I would ask, why have you chosen me as your companion?" Fred looks back at Nerozi, or 'N', and Astra, seeking an answer.

N begins to speak, but the 'demon' stands forward and stops him. "Because we're one man short, and you look like a warrior. Synthlika, a green skinned warrioress from Zzhilz, died from a shotgun wound in the world of Earth." Shard looked grim, as if he and 'Synthlika' had been close. "I, despite my appearance, am a mage, who would attack from afar. N is a ranged fighter too, being a longbowman. The core fighters need to be melee-men, and Astra is one, and you will be the other."

Fred notes this, and says nothing for a few moments. "Er... what do you actually do in the other worlds... how do you get there?"

"We are heroes. Mercenaries, too, as we enjoy rewards, but we work for more than rewards." Astra tells Fred and smiles. "How do we get to other worlds? Ask 'Rozi."

"I thought I told you not to call me that!" Nerozi says, although he can't help but smile. "My world is considered 'primitive' by your standards, although unlike yours, we have mastered the concept of time and space much before your world. Each universe is only a set distance apart, extremely far, mind you; but there is a direct correlation between time and distance. All we have to do is move in one direction, and speed up or slow down time, yet keeping us from aging or regaining youth. A device like this is made in our world, and I am related to the great scientist, Kokoshin, who created it..." Fred sees a device that looks like a wristwatch (although Fred doesn't know what that is) on Nerozi's arm.

"Wow..." Fred replied in awe, trying to take all of this in. "Well, what universe are we off to now?"

1. "Candyland!" Astra cheers.
2. "Zorronika, a skyscraper covered world of constant darkness." Shard tells, yawning.
3. "We've still got business to attend to here. We were sent to slay a certain dragon..." N nods to Fred.
