B'Elanna Anyway, back on Terra Prime at Dr. Vincent's mage lab . . . After the initial surprise of us returning and hugs, kisses, and all that (a lot of the family had been VERY worried when we were so long gone) we finally get down to the task of telling the tale of just WHAT had happened. Needless to say that it was probably one of the wilder ones out there from us in a while. But then again, amazing as it seems some of the others in the family/clan have had even wilder tales (albeit during the course of an official Quest at the beheast of the Rules and Agents). "All in all I only have few regrets," Inquirer wraps up. "Did not get to try hacking the Death Star and causing all sorts of mayhem, but that's okay. Didn't get to battle Darth Vader in a lightsaber dual, but then again while I might have won HE might have one. You know, with him actually being able to pull on the Force who knows how it would turn out? "However, the one really unexpected thing here which I shall always treasure is . . . ," Inquirer smiles a little bit. Hm, that LAST one had been a bit . . .odd but nice, I thought in my opinion. Still, it was up there with the part where I do believe our rather roguish freighter pilot/smuugler Han Solo shall be a bit more . . . cautious with his dealings with the "fairer sex". Do believe that he had been put off BY a bit by finding out that Fifi and Bambi had been male (and now female through no fault of their own but that's not important right now). The look alone on his face was so . . . exquisite. Do hope that it does not put him off women entirely, forevermore, though. He and the princess back there at least made a nice couple. There WAS a certain romantic chemistry and us elves DO like romance . . . Besides, in the later films the kids were something to see and if Solo and Liea shall not . . . Well, that would be life but it would be a shame. Still, the look he'd had HAD been funny. . . . Well, it was special AND I'm glad he never EVER started accusing us of using alteration magicks on the currency ingots we paid him off with! Would have been a heck of a thing, in the end if that... Well, 'tis done and that's that. That staid, if I am still to stay on a slight tangent (forgive me), then I like the thought of Mongomery Scott when he sees the email I'll be sending!. Probably just as special look (in a different way than Solos) to the tech data (and designs) we retro-engineered from an X-Wing. We Star Fleeters STILL would like (if only for pride nowadays) to have our own kind of fighter craft. Oh, the Military has a bang up good series. The Babylon Fivers Earth Alliance has that Starfury (ugly but VERY deadly). Us . . . don't make this ex-Star Fleeter laugh!! Yeah, true it would have been nice if they'd let us take the blue prints, but the Rebel Alliance wasn't going to let us look at the actual tech specs but let us look at an actual one. That'll still give enough pointers to put out something DECENT (and not just a rehash) of other people's works.... AT least in it all I DO believe, whatever else may have come from that song and dance (dog and pony or whatever the Star Wars equivalents are) show, that Inquirer's introduction of "nose art" to the X- wing pilot community was a REAL hit... But back to what Inquirer was talking about here a bit . . . Honestly, to say that the fact that AK-47 and Inquirer hit it off so well that each adopted the other as family (as is what is a familiar custom in the Inuit AI community . . . which Inquirer and my husband came from, by the way) . . . It is nothing really new under the Sun. Now, if say that the news that Probe's and Evis 7's first grandson should have come about in the more "traditional" manner (i.e. how it happens with organic beings)... NOW that would have garnered more stares! "So I'm something of a grandmother now," Evis 7 smiles softly, nodding slighty at the slight irony of having a droid from Star Wars as a granddaughter. "Guess I should quip that you've been rather busy while away, daughter of mine." Such is the way of Evis 7... have yet to see ANYTHING that upsets her center, really. IS what Inquirer aspires to be like, really. She's doing a fine job, but still she's NOT quiet in the same class as her mother (though from tales I hear her tell of her old "childhood" she's come a LONG way). Makes some of the things MY love do in her fits of temper seem mild... . . . Hm? What's up with Chiana? Looks like she's a cat who ate the yellow cannery, really... "Now . . . if the bit about all of that dren of Star Wars having happened a long time ago and all that is true," Chiana puts in from the side. "Then the next part just about now should be the time when we learn about just HOW things turned out when we left! After we'd decided to leave those transformed girls back there I'd like to see how the Jedi's planned treatments to fix them worked out." We'd had no hopes on our end and when Yoda said that he knew of a few tricks, what could we do? Not like we'd do them favors taking them home, especially to do that would be to BRING attention to their existence to whatever assassins were out there, trying to hit at us through whatever means necessary! Besides, AK-47 said that it would be a pleasure and duty to keep them in a comfortable position (i.e. support them) until and when they recovered (or at least get treatment to be functional enough to live on their own).
Again, not the most satisfying solution (especially being we like to keep newfound family together), but . . .best we can do. We decided that once we DID leave them behind, they stay behind (uprooting them would be counterproductive and all that according to Yoda . . .and with Yoda saying that we'll just trust his Force insights, thanks). That said . . . .though . . . More than a few people blink at her as Chiana keeps looking about, as if expecting someone to . . . show up out of thin air? "Oh Chiana," I says softly. "Please tell me that you did not ask Kenobi or one of the other Jedis back there to come here after we returned, did you?" She asked them to do WHAT?! It might have been a very long wait indeed for Kenobi or the other Jedis who, after shuffling off mortal coils and becoming Force ghosts would be otherwise in the best position to pass along tales to us. Did some small calculations on just what WOULD be needed, time wise, for some kind of group of primitive humans who would have been kidnapped from ancient Earth (remember: ". . . a long time ago . . .") in small enough groupings to be not missed even in those days to GROW to the population we see by the time the actual movie roles out in the 20th century.... . . . Had to throw in some time travel (i.e. some kind of intergalatic wormhole travel . . . which would be needed to travel to a galaxy " . . . far, far away, those things traverse time and space) in order to make it work. We are talking BIG numbers here and IF (not a given) Earth there does exist (might not considering that the teleporter dropped us off on a place that was NOT Earth).... The ghosts might have a LONG wait between then and now IF timeflow is anything akin there to here (i.e. equality of an hour to an hour and all that jazz). Well, even IF there is a big disparity and we are in no need in worry of waiting for them waiting around, twittling their thumbs until we can be seen by them to PASS on information . . . it is a big multiverse out there. Do believe that while even powerful with the Force AFTER being transfigured into ghosts, any Jedis would have trouble tracking us down. Bottom line, this was a PRETTY tall order for just a favor! What was Chiana thinking? "Yeah, I did!" Chiana nearly pouts, seeing our incredulous looks. "Hey, when I talked with Master Yoda he said he could do it and wanted to do it! Said if nothing else, he was looking forward to a challenge . . . or at least that is what I THINK he said." Hm, yeah the short green one can be difficult to understand at time with his broken speech patterns (which he insisted on using despite our offers at using a universal translator so he could speak his native tongue. That said, IF that is what he had said then if there was anyone out there who could pull this one off it would have been him. But being that nothing has happened...(have given him a few more minutes . . . as per what Chiana had been promised and then some).... That and we make sure that there are no Force ghosts caught up in the wards about the mage tower . . . "Well, I guess he wasn't up to the task," I shrug. "Was a nice thought, Chiana." Needless to say, we pretty much had written off any kind of "normal" means of contact with the Star Wars universe after leaving it. Without having coordinates for that last stop, finding it again was next to impossible (with current technology). Soon enough events shall prove us wrong but that is LATER, after we get all this OTHER mess finished and done with! In the meantime, while we're getting back abreast with some of the things we missed while away, I download some stories I'd been looking at as some place on the Net called Spacebattles. It is a fanfiction place with a lot of crossover fiction and while I would LIKE to say that the reason why I was attracted to it in the first place was because of my calling . . . it is more due to a rather catching writer's "sig" my eye fell upon while puttering around on it one day . . . "We flew with the Pterosaurs, we walked with the Brachiosaurs, we hunted with the Tyrannosaurs, and we swam with the Ichthyosaurs. We are the last of the Great Ones, and we carry their Legacy." - Rozuhz of the Dragon high Council. That was . . .so cool. And if I am EVER going to be stuck in a reality like Star Wars again for an extended duration (and find that the works of fiction are . . . not up to par with my tastes), then at least THIS time around I will be ready! Even if it is trivial, I will be ready! At least Sigin finally got to see those movies of Star Wars (moments before the copies we had being handed over to the locals). Though why he'd taken so long to finally get around to them after being warned by Inquirer to be ready for the next gaming session is beyond me! ... Nevermind. . . . Well, while away though worried SICK about us Probe and company had done themselves proud . . and found out some rather disappointing things about some of those Fred, Astra, and Belboz analogs we'd rescued and whatnot. Anyway, it is a decided . . . mixed bag all in all. The "unicornized" Fred and Astra are well adjusted, having been officially adopted by a VERY willing (for a change) unicorn herd up in Aqualaria. Seems that they hit it off rather well and we'll keep in touch but right now it is best for them to be with their own kind to . . .acclimate. Thank the Creator that they'd given up the idea of pledging themselves for life to Fertal and Astra for saving them. The idea of having servants . . . (slavish ones) did not sit well with the now VERY free spirited elves (them and the rest of us sharp pointed eared ones). The dragon mages (the oriental branch of the specie) have been able to crack the false memories and restore of those female academy students: "Hannah Fredrics" and "Belinda Boswell". Surprise, surprise. Turns out that (as doppleganger reactions foretold) the female academy students were "Transform Doored" Fred and Belboz. Nice to have them back in their right minds AND they're adjusting well to their new sex (even better than Fifi and Bambi, honestly). However, the bad news is that there is not even a peep from the that majorly banged up starship of Commodore Decker's subspace scanners to clue us in on just WHERE in the mulitverse to send our wayward heroines home (to put things to right with their Allaria). Bottom line, they are NOT going home and so (sad or not) we're doing what we can to give them a home HERE on Terra Prime. It's an obligation of family, as it were to help. At least we'd gotten the Red Shirts home again finally and opened yet ANOTHER diplomatic doorway into another Star Trek reality (albeit a "TOS" one). Uh, the really bad news is those royal girl twins (the OTHER female students, Emma and Justine Royal. The dragons had been able to cut through the false memories of the female students . . . but found yet another set of false memories and personalities: the king and queen of Allaria?! Oh, let me correct myself! Foolish of me! One of the twins had the false memories and personalities of the king of Allaria (the oldest retrievable layer) and the QUEEN of Allaria. Has to do with the gender thing of the "Two Girl's" prophecy, I reckon. Uh, but the bottom line is that the original and real personalities and memories are beyond our reach (forever). Baring a miracle, they're who've they've been redone as, period (we didn't "reinitialize" the queens . . . . had a belly full of snooty queens, thanks from that one bitch queen of Aqualaria earlier). . . . .We'll do what we can in adopting and bringing them into the family. Best we can do, considering like the other students they're not going home.... That was all we learned to date. Oh, that and we find out a LOT of calls from Babylon 5 from Crais (old NOT friend of Chiana's from Farscape) wanting to know when we'll be back. . . . Eventually, due to time travel our EARLIER versions shall go back and take care of all that mess back with Crais on Babylon 5 space station. . . but that's later (or earlier by our clocks). Crais and all that? What's the story there?! . . . . Please, don't ask right now! It would take forever to explain (one of those INVOLVED quests we keep falling into here while employed by the Rules and Agents). Just tried to explain it to Bambi over there and she's still shaking her head, trying to make heads or tales of it all.... "I suggest that we actually make ourselves scarce for the time being until AFTER our younger selves take care of that business on Babylon 5," the Doctor opinions. "I hear that the Himalayas are really TALL this time of year back on Blake's Earth." Old Blake's 7 Earth joke from that favorite TV show of Betty's and Ragan's. That and . . . we DID promise to visit sometime there to see how Rog Blake was shaping things up back there after overthrowing the tyrants.... That way we stay out of mischief and repeatedly having to lie in order to avoid frantic calls from Crais.
