At the bottom of the stairs the cave split into three directions. The
passage to the left was dank and smelt of dead animals. The passage to the
right was cold and strange noises could be heard from that direction. The
passage straight ahead was pitch black. Not even the light from the torch
was strong enough to pierce the darkness.
Edward looked at Fred and asked, "Which way?"
