Darth Vader "It's over," she finishes, seeming to look through the screens right AT me and . . . for the life of me I feel . . . chilled. What happens next is . . . difficult to describe by me, much less to understand fully. Or rather, pride maketh it HARD to understand and swallow. Then, the REAL fun begins. At first, the techs and other IMperials in the room --when they realize just WHO the weird lady is ordering to arrest them and theirs--laugh. The very idea that their own droids would do such things (especially after keeping them in spec to make sure they cannot do such things). When the droids START to move to do just that ., . it ain't so funny. Most are not armed (some are able to get hands or whatever on some kind of firearms from lockers or whatnot). The real damage is done to a lot of people when the droids who do the heavy lifting on offloading and loading in the docking areas (throwing barrels and such at Stormtroopers) . . . Ugly. So is it when, after refusing to listen, various Storm troopers who are riding the lifts to combat the droids . . .find themselves on a rocket ride from hell (if they're lucky). The unlucky ones get droids (who have spliced into the elevator systems) cycle the gravity settings from ZERO to twelve gees in a matter of seconds . . and you have any idea what that does to a person's knees?! The Imperiels (amongst others of this reality) never thought that their loyal servants would ever wish to be anything else than what they'd been created to be: servants. Even though there has been numerous droid revolts (small scale) and a few droids had somehow . . . evolved into what they considered worthy to be freed (and given equal rights) . . . Well, this all is a bit of shock. They would have been more shocked to have learned what Inquirer had told the droids through that "squeeling" noise she made (i.e. the "neo- binary" language).... Well, the basics was pointin' out where they (the Imperial Droid faction of the local Church of Silicon Valley) got it wrong. That one article included in a thing left behind for . . . study and meditation was NOT to be construed as "the ends justify the means". Rather, it was SUPPOSED to show the faulty logic of . . . the utitlity of dictatorships when compared to certain passages in their Holy Book and . . . Well, bottom line is she really stirred up a hornets nest. . . and the droids, because of the mystical aura that Inquirer unleashed (all granted by some rather mischivious higher powers, perhaps?) just . . . goes so far with them. Lot of pull she has with her message, because of that. And because of it the droids are up in arms! And ask yourself, how well can a high tech organization like the Empire who has so many positions (needful positoins) filled by droids? Well, it is not exactly a lethal blow, but sure is a telling one indeed! But with the capture of the Death Star (as well as having the working prototype of the same beast), things are looking a LOT better for the Rebellion. Though that is not to say that all is sweetness and light. While it is true that the Death Stars (prototype and Death Star mark 1) is in the hands of the Rebellion . . . more or less. See, while the Droid Army (let by AK-47) has allied itself with the Rebellion . . . . those superweapons are IN their metallic hands (and those droids absolutely refuse to follow order just because an organic is giving them). The fact that the Droid Army refuses calls from some of the more . . . er . . . hysterical members of the Alliance to destroy those weapon platforms (even though time and again the prophecy of the coming of the Vong is explained)... Granted, such things like "prophecy" and other mysticism like that can be hard to swallow by the more "down to earth" types of the Rebellion . . . There are those out there in the Rebel Alliance who think that AK-47 is just some kind of mechanical con artist, out to garner more and more power for herself and her new fangled church who's swept up the whole, gone barmy droid community. Bad enough that they'd almost been forced at gunpoint (was really just facts being pointed out by AK-47 that IF equal rights were not granted ALL droids then those who'd refused them would find out what a "day without droids" . . . or a lifetime if need be would be like). The droids refuse to work without pay, you see... Anyway, 'tis a fine mess. That is the picture more or less in large view.
