They'd only been walking for more than five minutes when they heard the
sound of running water in the far off distance. Soon enough, they came
upon a gentle river, sparkling in the sunlight like thousands of tiny blue
diamonds.
"God be good." Fred muttered. He got to his knees beside the river and
took a long drink. Although the water barley rose up above Astra's feet,
it was pure and blissfully cold; it was like Heaven to Fred's lips. He
drank and drank until he felt as though his bladder would explode.
"Well Astra, I believe I owe you an apology" Fred said a little later after relieving himself in some nearby bushes. Astra put her hand up, which Fred assumed meant that it wasn't necessary. She then motioned for him to follow her. Having nowhere else to go, Fred obliged. They traveled along and against the river, up a slated dirt path, and through several bushes. Astra then came to a halt and pointed at an object in the distance. Fred tried to focus on it, but everything was a blurry mess, as if he were looking at it from underwater. "We need to get some rest after this" Fred thought. He shook his head and slapped himself a little bit and his vision began to clear up slightly, just enough to see what Astra was pointing out.
