Fred reached for his bag---only to be reminded that it was gone.
"Just my luck" thought Fred grimly. "Well your highness, my bag disappeared when I was washed up on the beach, so we'd better go looking for water…Don't worry, we're near an ocean shore. Chances are there's a fresh-water stream leading into the ocean." Fred added reassuringly, noticing Astra's disappointed face. The two pulled themselves off the sandy shore and began scaling the beach. Before every turn they were filled with hope that a stream of fresh water stream would appear around the corner, and each time they were filled with bitter disappointment. They searched until mid-day, at which time Fred insisted that they stop and sit down."I know you're thirsty your highness. I am too, but we simply must stop and rest or else we'll dehydrate even faster." panted Fred, seating himself on a nearby boulder. He pulled up his armor and began rubbing his leg. Unlike Astra, he'd been walking back and forth all night long with no sleep, and rest was the first thing on his mind. It didn't take a scholar to notice that Astra was furious about this. She opened her mouth to yell words of protest-or that's what Fred suspected they were. Of course he had no way of knowing. Begrudgingly, Astra closed her mouth and forced herself over a bush leading into the woods. Fred sat up. "Don't do that, your highness. The chance of stumbling upon a freshwater stream in these vast woods is highly unlikely, not to mention that you're an easy target for any wild life that may attack, and as I mention earlier, you'd have no way of calling for h---Princess Astra, are you listening to me." Her rude hand gesture answered his question. "Fine" he muttered. "Go in and get yourself killed." Inside, Fred's heart gave a sudden jolt. It pained him to say those words to her, yet he let her go into the woods and watched her disappear out of sight.
