Calmly, Glenda explained that the dagger had been altered by a blue Shreken jewel, which is used by elvish societies as an aphrodisac. Of course, with humans' much more sensitive nervous system, it caused uncontrollable marriage proposals. Fortunately it's effects are negated if one is injured by the dagger, such as Glenda had been when she had nicked her big toe on the tip of the dagger.

  1. Fred, overwhelmed by false love, allows Glenda to draw blood. This frees him.
  2. Though he is in love, he refuses to be slightly pricked and flees.
  3. Fred makes a rude noise and giggles. Perhaps his nervous system was more sensitive then most?
  4. The dagger vanishes in a flash of green and orange light.
