Reunited With Velus

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 59180

The door closes one millimeter beyond Astra's left foot. On the other side, pursuing black-clad humanoids literally collided with the door.
Astra swept Velus up and they ran to the left, down a wide passaged lined with flashing lights. Several dozen windows showing blackness and glittering lights that looked like the night sky. Were they on a castle perched high in the mountains? Not important now. They came to another division in the path. To the left was a ridged floor and the smell of water and cleaning potions. To the right, the passage went up at a steep angle and smelled of medicines and the new versions of hospitals that Allarian/Aqualarian alliances have mandated. These hospitals and the right- hand passage carried with them their own smell of cleanliness potions, but different ones. According to the medical reports Astra had read (she always read the castle reports), the chemicals needed to clean humans were different from the ones needed to clean floors.
Astra is unsure. She knew the two -had- been in a hospital recently but the painkiller potions had been so potent she recalled very little.
Astra pointed to the left. "Mopping and floor cleaning?" she said, shrugging. Then to the right. "Hospital? Or Diety knows what this crazy castle holds."

  3. Velus squirmed out of Astra's arms and ran back the way they came.
  4. A giant explosion rocks the left hand passage.
  5. A small explosion rocks the right hand passage.
  6. Several of their adversaries appear on the right.
  7. Several enemies appear on the left.
  8. A man steps out of the 'hospital' passage. "Come with me if you want to live."
  9. A very old man steps out of the 'mop' passage. "Come with me if you w-want to live."
  10. A very large trapdoor opens underneath them, the trio lands stunned but unharmed in a dirt-floored arena with metal walls. Glass windows showed multiple, peaceful, moving pictures, like the magic tapestries on the Magic Floor of the castle.
