Josh runs from the scene, somehow managing get a lot of distance in with
his pants around his ankles. Sooner or later, the sweaty, skid-marked mess
trips him up and he pitches face first into an open sewer grating. He
plunges for many miles, only to be rescued by a deceleration spell. He awakens in a small room, tended to by a beautiful three-eyed mutant named Mirabelle. She had long black hair, a simple white shirt, ugly grey boots, green striped black pants and an armful of charm bracelets. "All dead." was his first words. "Shh." said the lady after introducing herself. "We know, we know, but you are alive." "No, no." said Josh, as details of the room came into focus. It was basically a cave, with the walls smoothed down by Grobian Fire Magic. (Josh had read a book on Fire Magic simply because all the illustrations of the spell had half-naked girls). "I...I..." Josh coughed up a speck of blood, the result of some now healed stress-tumors in his lungs. "You're all...I bring death to all I see." Josh rolled aside. A small window, set near the pillow, showed Josh an open area twice the size of most sports stadiums. A bristling, bustling town was below, it's citizens all sorts of sewer mutants. "You're here now." said the woman. She brought over a plate of food, then rang a bell. "I'm afraid, though, we don't have much time. The Underground City Ruling Council needs to know what you know about the death above." Josh was allowed a few minutes to eat, drink and take a toilet rattling pee in a small room behind a floor-to-ceiling painting of half naked women. The door creaked open and in came five distinct, colorful people, of various sizes, shapes, limb numbers and nationallities. And one dog, who might have been Yo (Josh hadn't seen Yo actually been bitten) but that didn't matter for right now, demon kittens burst in through the pillow- side window and began devouring everyone in the room. Josh screamed, punched two kittens into oblivion, stepped on some tails and dived out the now open window. He fell, spinning and wetting his pants as blood, skulls and tentacles flew out the window above.
