An Ally for Betty

So Betty swiftly ran through the strange events that she had witnessed that day: the arrival of Astra and then Fred, her own unfortunate demise, her compulsion to follow both Astra and Fred, reduced to a requirement to follow only Astra thanks to Zelberta's earlier intervention, Astra's encounter with Aloysius, the boy's discovery that Astra could tap the magic inherent in MtG cards, and finally his capture of her and bringing her to his home.

When she had finished, Zelberta said: "You couldn't have made all that up, so I have to believe you. I wonder why I couldn't see or hear you before, though. Perhaps it was because you were split then, but aren't any more. I'll help you and Astra if I can. Let's see if I can dissolve that invisible barrier."
