"Aye? Who's this lad, then? Judging by his language and his dress, a
farmer's boy," was Seamus' confusing comment. Then it clicked. "So you see him as human, then?" She asked Seamus. "Aye. Don't you?" She shook her head. "A powerful mage turned him into a dog." Fortunately, the comment also shut up Velus, who was even more confused than Astra. As a simple farmer's son, he had been brought up to be afraid of things such as ghosts, and if they were confronted by one, to make as much noise as possible in order to frighten them off. That was something he found came more natural in his current form of a dog. Admittedly, he was more puzzled by being told something by his parents that hadn't been true, as this particular ghost showed no sign of disappearing. Fred has been woken up by the noise, but no doors further down the corridor opened. Either they were the only occupants, or the others were extremely heavy sleepers. Fred, looking disheveled, open the door to his room. He stared at the apparition outside Astra's room, and rubbed his eyes as if he was seeing things. Seamus doffed his hat to Fred as he had to Astra. "Hello, laddie. The name's Seamus McHenry. Who do I have the pleasure of addressing?" Fred, in his turn, had been given the idea that ghosts and spirits couldn't talk; any noise they made would be incomprehensible howls and shrieks. He was speechless for a few moments, before managing to get out "Fred D'Honaire" in a more subdued tone than normal.
