Astra started to laugh at what she assumed was a deliberate play on words, given that Seamus was himself a spirit and that a different kind of spirit had been responsible for his demise. But he looked offended, so she hurriedly converted her laugh into a cough.

"I'm sorry if I disturbed your sleep, la- Astra," Seamus went on. "I see that you didn't even stop to put any clothes on, when you came out to investigate."

"You're supposed to see an illusory dress, created by magic."

"Sorry if it embarrasses you, but I don't. Ghosts see things as they really are. So why are you wearing illusory rather than real clothes?"

1. Astra told him.
2. Astra said: "It's a long story. If you don't mind, I'd sooner go back to bed and resume my interrupted sleep.
3. Just then, Velus woke up, came out through the open door, and started barking at the ghost.
