"Well, I'm not sure..." the redhead said.
"Tell you what, let's try it and see. How much money do you have on
you?"
The man opened a pouch and emptied it on the table. "This is all we..."
"Perfect," Jolyon said, sweeping the coins behind the counter. "Now here
we go."
"Wait!" the magic user said. "How will we..."
"No need to thank me," Jolyon said with a smile. He waved his hands - and
suddenly the four of them went blank.
Some time later, Walwyn dropped in. "Forgot to get my scrolls. I
better - Jolyon? Who are these people?"
"Oh, hello Master Walwyn," he said, standing up from the table where three
others, a man and two women, sat talking and laughing. Curled at their
feet was a small dog, dozing. Yes, these fine people have dropped by the
shop for a reason."
-
"This is Sir Fredrick and the Princesses Astra and Exotica. I thought to only give them false memories, but managed to restore their true ones anyway."
-
"Well - honestly, I'm not sure who they really are. They had amnesia so I let them try some false memories to keep them happy. Only now I can't undo it."
-
"You've heard me mention my girlfriend Natasha? Well, this beautiful redhead is her. This is her brother Kuykel and her best friend Gilana."
-
"This is my cousin Lucinda, a magic user like me, who's here to learn from you. These are her friends Milo and Rhoda, newlyweds looking to settle here."
-
"Do you remember that Count Sharkas was looking for two skilled assassins and a mage? Fortune dumped these people right into our laps!
-
"I used that spell you taught me that lets you mess with people's minds. I've had them assume a dozen different identities in the last hour or so!"
-
"Never mind these clots, Walwyn - let me tell you about this dog!"
