Henri Returns

Astra looked ready to complain, but thought better of it. In her mind, she had already made herself sound like a spoiled brat once, and had no inclination in doing so again.

In keeping quiet, she had surprised Henri, who was waiting for another outburst. He had expected to have to have cut her off with the next bit of news. Visibly relieved that he didn't, he said, "In an attempt to sugar the pill, the men are to remain hidden from view, but close enough to render assistance if necessary. Since you hopefully won't see them, he suggests you try to imagine that they don't exist."

1. The pair gather weapons and equipment, and resume their aborted hunt.
2. A soldier runs in panting for breath.
