Unanswered Questions

The dragon shook his enormous head. "I don't know the answers to any of those questions."

"I might be able to answer the last one," Fred said. "If anything was to happen to you, Astra, I don't think that I could ever fall in love with another. So removing you from the scene would be just as effective in ending the line of dragon slayers as killing me."

Astra did her best to disguise how touched she was by what Fred had said. "So did you just come to give us information?" she asked the dragon. "Because frankly I don't see that it's been all that helpful."

2. "No, I plan to stay with you, and try to protect you from any further attempt on your lives."
3. "No. My main reason for being here is to transport you to a safe place, where you can raise a family and secure the line of dragon slayers." "And abandon our countries when they desperately need us?" Fred said. "I don't think so."
4. They had all rather forgotten Bert, but as the court mage he knew a lot of ancient lore. Now he said: "I think, based on what's been said, that I might know who this 'strange being' is."
