"I'll grant you your sword back if you agree to travel with us until we
reach the front doors of Exotica's castle” Astra said, coolly. Fred
studied her face. Her expression seemed sincere, but Fred just didn’t see
logic in her plan. Was she only doing this to waste his time?
He eventually came up with the conclusion that she would hope he would change his mind once he got there, but he swore to himself that he would leave the instant he got hold of his sword. Fred agreed to assist her up to that point and they continued along the path to Exotica. After several hours of walking, farm fields had quit turning up completely (It was for the better. The last guy that they’d passed attempted to propose to Astra) and the grass gradually became shorter and tougher as they continued. “It’s like walking on needles” stated Astra, her face disconcerted from the pain with each step. Velus also was beginning to whimper from sharp points of the grass. Eventually, Fred gave Astra his boots to walk in (He had plain leather outlining and thick socks to protect his own feet) and Fred carried Velus the rest of the way (Velus was hoping Astra would have carried him, but she was wielding Fred’s sword, and had nothing to keep the blade in)It had nearly grown dark when Exotica’s castle came into view. The castle’s main design was similar to King Emry’s (Fred’s King) castle, with it’s square shape and large pillars at each point, but this castle was significantly larger than Emry’s castle, and had much more had been added to the outsides. While the king had nothing but a few small gardens, this castle was surrounded by vast, gardens full of rare plants of many kinds, slim rivers and lakes used to create a thick moat, and even a hedge maze, which seemed to have circled the entire castle. All this surrounded it in a perfect form of rotation symmetry. Yet, the feelings that they had inside didn’t match the castle yard’s daunting scenery. Despite the unique and artistic design, this castle yard didn’t give visitors the warming welcome King Emry’s castle gave folks. It wasn’t that it looked haunted or disfigured, it was just that something about it felt…unwelcoming. The night had completely shadowed the sky by the time the trio had reached the front doors. They had little trouble reaching their destination. The castle owner had been kind enough to lay out a path straight through the hedge maze, thorough the castle’s largest garden, and across a bridge covering the moat, leading them up several large, marble, steps and directly in front of a pair of tall, scarlet, willow, doors. ”Well, Princess, if you were hoping that I would change my mind once I had arrived here, you are mistaken. I kept my end of the bargain, and it’s time for you to keep yours.” Fred said firmly. “Of course” said Astra, passing on the sword’s grip to Fred. “Thank you for your loyalty Sir Frederigo. It’s a pity you couldn’t join us for the rest of this mission.” ”A pity indeed” Fred thought, sarcastically. He bid his companions a final farewell, and headed down the steps to leave this queer place and put it behind him.Unfortunately for Fred, he wasn’t about to leave so easily.
