Of course Nixy hadn't wanted to have any of the pork and - in deference to
her sensitivity on the subject - Velus hadn't had any either. So by the
time they returned to the camp both of them were ravenously hungry. Fred
had returned from his scouting trip by then, having found nothing of
interest, and he provided some food for the two of them from the supplies
that he had in his pack.
As all five of the party sat around the fire, Nixy said: "I've just remembered something rather worrying. The dragon once told me that there was a curse on everything in his armoury that would take effect if anyone wore any of it without his permission." Astra, Velus and Cederik, who were all attired solely in items from that amoury, [14900] exchanged worried glances. "What sort of curse?" Astra asked. "And how long would it be before it began to take effect? We've only been wearing this stuff for a few hours as yet." "He didn't say."
