Fred indicated that yes, he wanted the potion. The gnome fetched the potion
and the so-called straw. The potion had a vile taste, as all healing
potions seem to have, but Fred's throat soon felt much better. The rest of
his aching body felt a bit better as well. After giving Fred the potion the
gnome left him alone. He returned after some hours, Fred didn't know just
how long, and fed him some soup through the straw. He also had with him a
bottle with a bigger tube protruding from the neck. Fred felt a bit
uncomfortable when the gnome told him what it was for but since he couldn't
use the bed pot while he lay there and wasn't allowed to get up he had no
other choice than to relieve himself into the bottle held by the gnome or
eventually wet his bed.
