Wolf Cries

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 56480

"Sigh." says the big wolf.
Mark tilts his head. "Did you just say the word sigh?"
"Um, no. You better go find your friend before she damages something. There's a legend around here (and legends are always true in fantasy stories) of how an unaware visitor damaged some stories and electricity was discovered two hundred years later then it should be."
"Come with me." Mark suggested. "I am not sure of where I would be going."
"I will pass." said the wolf. "I've already had enough character development as I am comfortable with today...but here. Follow the yellow ball."
Suddenly a floating tennis ball is in front of Mark. Not was. Is. Somehow it had been there all along.
The ball zipped to the left. "It is attuned to the brainwaves of distress, the system was invented several millenia from now when some of the more ... medicated authors ... hallucinated the books were out to get them."
Mark follows the ball and finds Karen in a dead end filled with biographies of people he had never heard of.

  1. Karen is okay.
  2. Karen is tired.
  3. Karen has found a way home.
  4. Karen punches the ball with all of her might and fury.
  5. Karen berates Mark for things that are not his fault.
