Fred's sword moved not an inch.
"Didn't you hear me, Lord Fred?" said the dragon as steam exited his six nostrils. "Any harm to me will be visited twice as bad to her."
"I don't care, Lord Fred!" cried Astra. "Slay the foul beast!"

  1. Fred slays the foul beast. Astra drops dead.
  2. Fred tries but only succeeds in hurting it badly. It flees. Astra is barely alive.
  3. Fred, with most of his hair crisped off and his non-sword arm broken, manages to kill the beast. Astra lives. A bluff!
  4. Fred cannot bring himself to attack. His chivalry is his one weakness.
  5. Fred knew of the spell that connected harm to two entities. It's one drawback...the attacker, namely Fred, could kill the guilty target, the dragon...by commiting suicide!
