Underdeveloped Sense of Time

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 55782

Almost from birth, it had been noticed that you had little sense of time, and the intervening years had done little to ameliorate the situation.

For example, you have no idea what age you are. Birthdays were celebrated, but (without the sense that you would have to wait a year for another one) scarcely with more excitement than would have been raised by your next mealtime.

This affliction also had its dangerous side, since many activities became dangerous if not undertaken with a firm grasp of the required time frame: you had once been hit by a bus on the street outside your house because you thought you had a fortnight to cross the road.

As a result you had developed an over-reliance on watches, clocks and other timepieces which, despite your almost constant referrals, had proven of limited worth in reducing your chronic tendency for lateness. QED.

It is therefore no surprise that by the time you serve Egon his cup of tea

  1. almost no time at all has passed
  2. Egon has forgotten all about it
  3. Egon has died of old age
