Reluctant Pssengers

As far as Fred/Fertal and Astra/Artizza know, dragons are evil. Astra had been chained up and tormented by a dragon before she had been rescued by Fred. And Fred. of course, had been on a quest to destroy that dragon. If you had suggested to them that there could be such a thing as a good dragon, they would have laughed at you. Thus when they find themselves being carried aboard one, with two more close at hand, they struggle even more violently than before, but to no avail.

If anything, the reaction of the two "bawdy girls" is even more extreme, since each has the alarming experience of being clutched in the forepaw of a dragon. They aren't in a position where they could hear any spoken reassurance, and they are too angry and afraid to be receptive to telepathy. Each is being held round the waist, and their arms are free, so it is lucky that they aren't armed. Dragon hide is of course too thick for blows from their fists to cause any damage.

1. So the priority for the dragons is to land again as soon as possible, ie as soon as they are out of the "danger zone". The thought that one of the girls might manage to squirm free and then fall to her death is a dreadful one.
