The duke is busy with matters of state for the next few days, and doesn't have time to deal with the body.

  1. He moves it to the room where matters of state take place, causing them to take much less time.
  2. Someone steals the body.
  3. The cleaning staff throws it away.
  4. A visiting necromancer brings it to life and wreaks minor havoc with it.
  5. A visiting necromancer brings it to life and wreaks hilarious pranks with it!
  6. The body sits in the corner and rots.
