"How do you know my name, sir knight? I don't know you, do I? Anyway, to answer your question, I came here for a swim."

"No, you don't know me. I'm Sir Josh, by the way. But I recognised you from your picture on the cover of the Never Ending Quest CDROM."

Astra looked confused, not having any idea what a CDROM might be. Sir Josh added: "You came here for a swim? Isn't that a strange thing to do in the Southern Caves."

"Since the dragon captured me three months ago, he has given me free run of the caves. I like to come here every day to get some exercise and to keep clean."

"But why don't you escape?"

"Do you think that I haven't tried? But the dragon has magical wards in place at all the exits, and I cannot get by them."

"Well, I'm here to slay the dragon. Perhaps when I do so his wards will fail. But first, do you think that you could help me to get to the shore? If I let go of this chest the weight of my armour will pull me down, you see."

1. "All right."
2. "Sorry. no. The dragon wouldn't like it if I helped you, and he has some very inventive punishments."
3. Astra bursts into giggles. "Sorry," she gasps, "but that's so ridiculous."
