"You have offended the Gods! Prepare to be punished!!" roared Raiden,
hurling a bolt of electrical energy at David Campbell. The wiry freedom
fighter rolled aside just in time, and fired two laser blasts from the
prone position, which hit and singed Raiden's thick skin. "HA!" Raiden laughed. "You think your puny man-weapons can harm Raiden?" "Damn it!" David Campbell swore. "I'll get you yet!" Susan pressed herself into the wall, trying to minimize her targetting silhouette while desperately trying to think of something she could to help. Crying out "Pax Brittania!" David hurled his blaster rifle into the air above Raiden's head. Raiden did not fall for the ruse, grunting in satisfaction as David flew forward with an apparent full-frontal charge. POW! Raiden's fist connected with David's head, sending teeth flying and blood spattering, but David had been anticipating it and leaned in sideways, minimizing the damage to his skull and sliding in to wrap his legs around Raiden's left ankle and twist, bringing the massive beast crashing to the ground. As Raiden struggled to regain his balance, David kicked him in the jaw and caught his blaster rifle as it fell out of the air, which he then slid into Raiden's mouth. There was a look of surprise on the monster's face. "Say goodnight." David said grimly and pressed the trigger. There was a massive explosion of brain matter. David rolled away to avoid getting any on his clothes, and jumped up. "Wow!" Susan beamed. "Where did you learn to do that?" "Heh." David grinned, blushing. But it apparently wasn't over yet. Raiden's corpse was grossly bulging and distending in places, as if something was trying to break free. "Look out!" David yelled. "It's gonna blow!" He leapt to shelter Susan with his body as the entire area was consumed in a massive explosion...
