"After all," Fred continued, "you will find far more people to collect data from up on the surface, rather than hundreds of feet down as we are here, so helping us escape will be in your own best interest."

"You have a point," Borgatron A.D. conceded. "However, even for me getting back to the surface from so deep could take a considerable time, and it will take me even longer if I have to help you two escape the caves. Since my time for data gathering is limited, I must make the best use of it. It's down to 3.4379 hours now. So I think it might be better if I remained here and studied you two in situ, rather than wasted time in travelling to the surface."

  1. Fred and Eritrea tried to persuade him to change his mind.
  2. "Then take us with you when you eventually go," Eritrea suggested, not really understanding what he had meant by his talk of an alternate dimension.
  3. Just then, the brownies caught up with Fred and Eritrea. "Ah, more sentient life forms for me to study," Borgatron A.D. said happily, oblivious to Fred and Eritrea's alarm.
