Even had Astra and Fred known that Astra's torture was an illusion, it
probably wouldn't have made any difference. Though she might suffer no
physical after effects, as she would have done with real torture, whilst
the pain lasted it was just as real and just as unpleasant.
"I'll do anything you want, short of murder or betrayal," Astra gasped. "Me too," Fred said, shaken by what had happened to Astra. Good. I don't like having to inflict pain. Now - as you have realised - Astra's dress is an illusion, for everyone to see but you three. Its purpose is to assist in the smooth carrying out of your mission. If I should so choose, I can dispel that illusion just as easily as I created it, even at a distance. And I shouldn't need to remind you that unless the mission is carried out to my satisfaction Astra won't have her nudity curse lifted.
