As they were eating, another customer walked over to their table. Most of
the inn's clientele looked like farming folk, but this man was different.
He did not have the ruddy complexion of an outdoor worker, was much better
dressed and he had a goatee beard, which was unusual. He looked to be
about forty.
"May I join you?" he asked. Though Fred was rather surprised, he looked at Astra and, when she nodded, said: "Please do." Sitting down at the table, the man said: "My name is Ambaric. I am a sorceror. When I saw that the lady was naked, I thought that it might be advisable to conjure up the illusion of clothes for her, to avoid the risk of a nasty scene. Apart from we three, everyone believes that she is wearing a fawn dress." "That's very chivalrous of you," Astra said. "In case you were wondering, I'm under a curse that prevents me from wearing any clothes." "I see. How unfortunate for you. As for the illusion, think nothing of it. I'm afraid that it will quickly fade, though." "How quickly?"
