Astra nodded and ran off through the forest. She went from tree to tree,
keeping any eye out for anything strange. Fortunately, she got back to the
fort without any difficulties. She did get held up at the main gates,
though, and it took the intervention of the captain himself to let her
through. The captain took the fact the enemy had been spotted a mere two miles away remarkably well, and pushed away her fear about bears. "They are not naturally aggressive," he told her. "They normally eat berries, which are plentiful this time of year. The two enemy scouts must have provoked it." There was a knock on the door of the captain's office. "Excuse me one moment." It was the captain's second- in-command. "Pardon me for being so forward, sir, but seeing the lady return without Henri -" The captain interrupted, having a good idea what he was about to say. "Yes, I want you to pick ten men including our best tracker to go to Henri's aid." Fortunately, the area Henri was in did have a few distinguishing features to aid the searchers. Astra made to say she wanted to go with them, but the captain cut her off mid-sentence. He warned he would have her put under guard if necessary. Remembering the last time that had happened, and not wishing to go through anything remotely similar, she backed down. The second-in-command took this all in with out saying a word. Eventually realising he was dismissed, he gave a smart salute and left.
