Looking to pass the time

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 51066

Looking to pass the time, Fred scans the shelves of this very large library.
Some of the books had fallen onto their side because the portable shelf inserts just weren't of very high quality.
A few gaps seemed to indicate that everything on primates (aka monkeys) had been pulled off the shelf on purpose.
Finally, Fred found an interesting book.
"The Life And Times Of Velus, The Best Sidekick A Man Can Have."
Fred had the oddest thought he should know Velus. But oh well.
He sat in a small, one person chair. It was low to the ground, like a rock troll. It was upholstered in bright green, which clashed with the maroon tips of the armrests, not to mention the legs.
Fred flips through the book.

  1. Read Chapter 3, 'Dog Tired'.
  2. Fred finds a wood carving reproduction of himself hugging Velus in a really woman-like way. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  3. The book catches on fire. Fred puts it out before any real damage is done.
