Astra had been struggling to open the window for at least 5 minutes when
she finally gave up. "There's no way we can escape," she told Freda, "we
have to face her."
"Face her?" Freda looked horrified. Just then, the door swung wide open and in rushed the crone, infuriated. "You two have been trying to escape, haven't you? I'm warning you, I'm not in the mood for fast food!" But Astra was not easily intimidated. "Looks like there are two of us and only one of you. If I were you, I'd think before picking a fight." She started to approach the old witch menacingly, and Freda, though not looking nearly as confident as Astra, joined her. The witch seemed to hesitate for a moment, then cried out: "Hold it for a second!" She had to think of a plan if she didn't want to miss her lunch - a change of strategy. She turned to Freda, who seemed easier to reason with. "Look, I offer you a deal, just because you haven't been as hostile to me as your mean friend here. You may not be aware, but false memories have been planted into your soul. Even that body - I'm quite sure it's not your own!" Freda looked confused. Astra, on the other hand, eyed the crone suspiciously. "However," the crone continued, "I can help you. Forget what your wicked friend told you about me - I mean you no harm. I can heal your memory, even revert you back to your original body. I only ask for a small favor in exchange: you will be magically bound to fulfill one order I give you after your memory has returned." The crone smirked, and added to herself: "Which will be to help me overpower your scrumptious friend and prepare her for lunch, of course." "Don't do it, Freda!" Astra cried, but Freda appeared to be wavering. After a moment of silence...
