Fred quickly read the words to the spell:
C'tress Bar'lkan Hod Rakantoban!
Immediately he felt his body begin to tingle. Gray fur sprouted from his
arms and chest. He quickly stripped off his clothing leaving him dressed
only in his trousers.
He looked and saw the fur start growing on his chest. His nicely chisled
stomach muscled grew even stronger and lengthened. His fingers became long
and thin and stretched with a thick membrane between them. He felt his
face contorting and he reached up to touch it.
He was shocked to find that he had a bat's face. His nose was huge and
turned in an upward curve. His ears were enormous and combined were bigger
than his head. tiny sharp teeth filled his mouth and his hair had become
thick and gray like the rest of the fur covering his torso.
The change continued quickly and soon his arms had become wings. A tiny
tail sprouted from the base of his spine and all the time he was
shrinking. He became small enough that he slipped out of the rest of his
clothes and flew out of the bars of his cage.
He finished his transformation in mid-flight and came to a stop hanging
from the cieling looking down at the floor far below himself. He had a
sudden longing for blood.
Alarmingly he felt a tingle in his skin again and he began to wonder if in
fact he had done the spell right at all.
