Fortunately for Astra and Hesht, not only had Gordie not heard of their
flight but he had not even been aware that there had been "guests" staying
at the manor. He had been told to watch the ford to ensure that no-one
tried to cross it whilst it was unsafe, and he would do that. However he
had evidently been too late in the case of these two. Therefore, if he
wanted a quiet life - and he did - they need no longer be any concern of
his, since he had had no instructions concerning such an eventuality.
"Deal!" he called back. "Let me know when you are able to leave, and since you say that you want to move unseen I will look the other way for a while." "Thsnk you!" Astra replied.
