Several hours had passed. Fred, twelve officers and six prisoners had holed up in the prison's kitchen.
At least, most of this Fred knew. Pots and pans and ladles and soups and cabinets and wood and metal...it looked like every kitchen Fred had ever been in, along with every armory too.
It was five hundred feet square, but fortunately, for security aspects, only had two 'airlock' entrances.
Five men gaurded each entrance, a mix of cops and cons.
Too many battles and too many losses in the past few hours had forced the group to trust each other.
Fred ...

  1. flash backed to the beginning of the attack.
  2. finished wrapping the wounds of Officer Green Greenly. He should be okay.
  3. knew there was a traitor in the group. A dying officer had warned him explicitly but had perished before actually naming a name. Typical.
  4. realized he was hungry. He passed cold chicken wings around and ordered everyone to eat up, there might not be a chance later.
  5. simply passed out.
