Astra looked around. She was in a long line in some sort of weird, cloud
landscape. To the left and right were nothing, just fizzy clouds. Above
was a white void. Behind the line streched into oblivion. Ahead of her
were about fifty other people, a man at a podium, some boring golden gates
and a brick wall about fifty stories tall.
Ahead of Stacy was a tall, mostly bald man. He had a shock of white hair around his ears. His clothes seemed to be of one piece, with black shoulders, a red torso and funny looking black leggings. Behind Astra was a short woman. The woman had on a blue shirt, a tiny skirt and was carrying a briefcase. She looked a bit confused and a bit skinny to be healthy. But since they were all dead, well, skinny wasn't a problem. The woman shifted her briefcase and held out a hand. "Hi. I'm Ally." she said. Astra dutifully shook it, wondering why women were shaking hands in this time period. "Astra." she said. "Pleased to meet you. I really hope I'm going to get in. I did try and do my best down there." The older man turned. "Hello. My name's Pat. Anyone know why we just appeared in this line?" "We are dead." said Astra. "Yes, I realize that, but appearing in line just like this is a pretty odd thing to happen." "I'm just happy I'm in this line in the first place." said Ally.
