about Zardoz

obviously both evil and extremely powerful. And if we believe him, then I
don't think I can
turn this quest down. You needn't come with me, of course. After all, you
weren't in the prophecy."
"Don't be silly. Of course I'm coming with you," Astra replies. "So first we follow the map to get out of the desert; then we journey the hundreds of miles to the heart of the old Empire; then we somehow find this spellbook, if it still exists. And should Zardoz get wind of what we are trying to do, then he will be on our trail - assuming that he hasn't already tracked down and destroyed the book years ago. A piece of cake, really." And she grins at Fred. As well as the map, Vincent has given them supplies of food and water, as well as baggy robes made of a light material and complete with hoods, to protect them from the sun. Thus at least they are far better prepared for desert travel than they were before.
