"Hello, madame." Fred said. "I would get up but I am afraid I must let my back find it's proper position. It shall take but a few minutes. Who, might I ask, are you?"

The woman stepped closer. Fred's back gave a small 'crick' and he sat up.

1. "I am the mayor of Dorn. I and my deputies are searching for a missing soldier patrol."
2. "My name is Stacy. Do you know where we are? What happened to the city? Where did it go?"
3. "They call me Julie. I own these mountains. What are you doing here?"
