Reminded of the quest

"I'm talking about the mission to kill the dragon Minestus!" Sir Faen said. "You are our most noble knight, even Sir Bendforworms failed sir. The dragon, evil as it is, cut off his legs and arms and sent him back. It is an evil dragon."

Fred could barely remember Sir Bendforworms, but what he remembers was not happy memories. The two of them had been competing about who was the best warrior all through knight school and had continued to it up until Fred was chosen to slay the dragon. Fred always thought Bendforworms was an insufferable know it all, but he never deserved such a fate.

"I will do it," said Fred. "I have neglected my duties while I have had fun with the lava people, but now it is over. I will destroy that dragon even if it is the last thing I do."

He called over his trusted general of the lavapeople army Chuupchup and got up from his chair. "I have been sitting on this throne for 6 months, and I am out of shape. Get me your best fighters Chuupchup, I must train."

For seven days and seven nights, Fred did nothing but train, and finally on the seventh night he decided he was ready to face Minestus. But he still had to decide tactics. He could attack the dragon alone. He could bring alone sir Faen. He could bring along a regiment of lava soldiers. Or he could let sir Faen lead the lava soldiers in a diversonary tactics, so Fred could avoid the dragon's forces and get right to it.

1. He must do this alone, he could not let anyone else get harmed.
2. Sir Faen would be a fine human shield... ahem... adventuring buddy.
3. A regiment of lava soldiers would be the way to charge.
4. Diversonary tactics all the way baby.
