Astrid remembered too late that Astra was compelled to be very literal in interpreting wishes. No doubt the dragon was a powerful enough magic user to restore Astra if he so chose. Perhaps he was the only one other than Belboz who could do it?

The dragon opened his mouth in what he might have intended as a smile, disclosing two rows of very sharp teeth. "Well, well," he said. "If it isn't Astra. I was wondering how you'd managed to escape from your chains. And a female djinn who could be your twin. Hey, that rhymes! But is it Astra? Your aura seems all wrong somehow. Anyway, to what do I owe the pleasure?"

  1. Astrid decides to explain and to ask for the dragon's help for Astra. It's a long shot but worth a try.
  2. Astrid has a quest to try to fulfil. She readies her sword and charges at the dragon.
  3. Expecting to be killed at any moment, Astrid sees no alternative but to use her third wish.
  4. "Fear not, Mistress," Astra says. "I will not let you come to any harm. I am compelled to protect you, and it does not require the use of a wish."
