She and Astra were standing in the middle of a huge empty hall whose walls appeared to be constructed from blocks of granite. The light cast by flaming torches high up on the walls illuminated tapestries depicting battle scenes. At one end of the hall a log fire was blazing in an enormous fireplace. Just far enough back from it to be comfortably warm was a throne. Further away from the fire was a highly polished table that occupied over half the length of the room. It had chairs along either side.

"I have no idea where we are," Astra replied. "But I like the look of it much better than where we were before. I feel at home here. I wish I wasn't wearing this funny costume, though."

"Whereas I don't feel at all at home here. It looks like the sort of place that you'd find in a Conan story."

Just then, the huge double doors at the far end of the hall from the fire opened. In came:

1. A magnificent figure of a man, with a sword in one hand and a shield in the other.
2. A man wearing ornate robes and a crown.
3. A woman wearing ornate robes and a crown.
4. A cleaner with a bucket and mop.
5. A procession.
