Queen should be without her own tame lioness," she said. "She's just the
right accessory to encourage my troops and to cause morale-damaging
rumours amongst my enemies: that I feed prisoners to her alive, for
instance. I think I shall call her Sheba." As she spoke, she ran her hand
through the fur at the back of the lioness's neck.
"But is it safe, Your Majesty?" the aide asked. She looked a little nervous. "Oh, yes, perfectly safe. Didn't you hear the mage? That collar has been enchanted to keep her docile." "Well, I just hope he's right."
