"Ha! Hardly a friend. I was visited by the ghost of Lord Fred. Since I was responsible for his death, that's hardly surprising."

1. "No, it isn't," the Dragon agreed. "Make the most of the chance to talk to him in the next few hours. Your execution goes ahead as scheduled tomorrow."
2. "Ghosts don't exist. I'm glad to see that my treatment of you has broken your mind. That was what it was intended to do, but it had looked as though it might fail. Now it has been achieved, I'm freeing you."
