“Oh my God!” Kenny shrieks in terror. “Mom’s a Republican!?”
“You take that back!” Joe blurts out impulsively, taking several futile swings at Josh’s mid-section. “She voted for Nader!” “Now now, boys,” Josh berates them. “Don’t make me beat the living tar out of you!”“Josh is right,” Scott uncharacteristically concurs. “Both of you need to settle down and just accept the truth. Your mom is a Republican and there’s nothing that’s going to change that. She’s more likely to sober up than switch parties.” There is another eerie pause.Followed by yet another eerie pause. And then another.And another. “Boogerbutt!” Joe beshrews his reviled brother, and then punches him in the arm.“I’m telling mom!” Kenny cries weakly. Both Josh and Scott shake their heads in frustration. “No wonder their mom’s a drunk,” Scott remarks offhandedly.Laughter ensues. Eventually, Josh and Scott grow tired of dealing with the incorrigible little hoodlums and decide to lock them in the bedroom. Too bad they forgot to LEAVE THE ROOM before locking the door.Idiots. Hours pass.... days pass.... weeks pass.... months pass... years pass.... decades pass.... centuries pass....millennia pass...eons pass...However, being that this is a subsection of the ‘Staircase Room’ - a room which is governed by laws not of this universe - none of them grow a day older. Space and time have no meaning here. So what have they been up to all of this time?
