The place they found themsleves in seemed dismal and dead, with slate-grey mountains rising in
the distance that matched the color of the sky. The blood-red flowers beneath their feet were
the only spot of color in the vast landscape in which they stood. The four stood quietly for a very
long time, as they took in the terrible fullness of what they'd seen.
Luna was the first to speak. Tarin, full of anger, had been on the verge of saying something all the time, but had never quite known what, so he'd just gibbered incoherently. Luna steeled herself, trying to stay calm and aloof and find some clear course of action as the Sage would have, but the terror of what she'd seen was too large for her to grasp. Unlike Alyssa, who was on the verge of dissolving into tears, she'd been prepared all her life to face such a loss, but could not believe it had actually happened. Now she spoke, a bit timidly. "We have to find civilization, somewhere, and warn them. That thing doesn't think or operate in an organized way, but after a while he will follow us and try to take revenge. Vigoro said that it was possible for the Traveler to defeat Happyman. Maybe there is someone here who could aid him in chanelling his powers." Alyssa still remained silent and stoic, just barely. Tarin then spoke, dissolving into a blast of fury. "Where is he! I'll cut him into pieces! And then I'll cut those pieces into pieces! And then I'll feed them to the rats! And then--" Luna shook her head. "You've faced him in person. You know very well that wouldn't do any good. The pieces would just come back together and kill you, unless the Traveler stops him." She frowned. "I--we're not alone here. There's some kind of presence around us, trying to make contact.." She closed her eyes and concentrated. As she did, a wind began to blow through the dead air around them, and petals of the red flower were blown into the air, coalescing into a body. As the wind blew away, they were facing a woman who wore a green dress with blood-red hair like the flowers. She seemed to be in great pain. Just then, the four heard a great and terrifying laughter behind them, as the woman dissolved into nothing and screamed a soul- wrenching scream. They turned around and saw a wall of darkness rushing toward them like a wave...
