A family gathering

...for a moment there was a pregnant silence. Audrey was staring at Anna
with a satisfied smirk and a "you're gonna get it" look to her face.
Anna's skin prickled and her senses were crawling all over each other,
trying to identify a potential source of danger. There!
A faint buzzing floated to her ears and Anna's eyes darted back and forth
but found nothing. A shadow passed over her face and finally, Anna slowly
raised her head and her breath caught at the sight that greeted her eyes.
It appeared out of the corner of the eye as a vague ominous dark cloud.
And it was drawing closer. As the distance closed between them Anna could
pick out the individual faeries that made up the bunch. The panic in her
stomach grew as Anna saw that these were adult faeries. She tried to calm
her stomach by assuring it that there were less of them than she had
originally thought.
By then the beautiful faeries--about forty--had landed around them and it
was time for action.
