She had found, of all things, another brass anklet. Like the first, its
outer surface was bare, but the inner surface had runes engraved. Fred was
a more than a little bewildered at this turn of events; a state of mind
Astra's next action wouldn't alleviate. She compared the two and gave a
small gasp when she noticed that the engravings, as far as she could tell,
were identical. This would seem to indicate that there were two slaves
that had the exact same owners. And had been in this same cave system.
There was no telling whether it had been during the same time period,
though. To top it all off, there was another pile of goat's bones. These seemed to be at an equivalent distance from the location of the second anklet as the previous pile to the location of the anklet Fred had found. Finding one piles of bones - okay. But two? Maybe the piles of bones were markers for something? That just begged the question as to what. The cave floor around the piles of bones was nothing but solid rock. It was not as if anything could be buried there. Bringing up the subject of the first pile of bones, Astra noticed that she could make out the outline of them. For some reason this made her think of an idea. She told it to Fred who shrugged and went along with it. He followed her to another part of the cave system where to his surprise but Astra's delight, they found yet another pile of bones, but no amulet this time. They were both surprised, however, to notice the increase in the distance their light source covered. They could make out clearly now the first and second piles of bones. Though neither of them would recognise it as such, the bone piles were laid out in almost perfect equilateral triangle. Astra surmised that if they could find the point equidistant between the three piles, they would find whatever they were looking for. Around about the centre of the triangle there were a few largish rocks which they had ignored for there was plenty of similar rocks scattered around the cave. They walked over to them and with a lot of effort managed to move the rocks out of the way.
