It seemed sensible to Astra to reconnoitre the tunnel first, to find out
whether it remained as narrow as it was at this end and also to discover
how far she would have to go. Additionally, whilst the ghost clearly
wanted her own bones to share a burial place with those of her lover, it
might prove easier to bring his bones down the tunnel to be with hers
rather than vice versa. So, leaving the the ghost's bones where they were
for now, she made her way into the now adequately lit tunnel.
The beginning of the tunnel was certainly a very tight squeeze. Astra wondered whether the ghost's own people, who had presumably dug this tunnel long ago, were generally smaller than Aqualarians. The ghost had perhaps not appreciated how difficult it would be for her.
