The light the Spirits supplied them with threw everything in stark
relief, banishing the shadows. It also showed that there was apparently
nothing for them to see except rock. Still, the cave seemed to go a far
way back. It was Astra who noticed something. A pile of bones. Further examination showed that they weren't human, but were possibly that of goats. That obviously showed that someone or something had lived in this cave, probably some time ago. There appeared to be no human remains, so far, so it was possible the cave had been a temporary stop off point. If the former slave had been here - and that seemed likely since his anklet was here - then why would he have taken it off? This and other questions were running through their heads.
